SPEAKING

In this speaking test, you will have a discussion with an certified examiner. The examiners are limited in what they can say and how they interact with candidates. This is a interactive and formal test i.e you are sitting in a room actually talking to a real person. This must be natural. The Speaking Test is 11-14 minutes long and is in three parts.

PART 1 Introduction Question

You will answer questions about yourself, your family and any other general topic.

PART 2 Cue Card

You will speak about a topic for 2 minutes maximum.

PART 3 Follow Up Questions

You will have a longer discussion about the topic introduced in Part 2 or sometime another topic.

NOTE :- The speaking test is same for both IELTS academic and IELTS general training test.

Understand The Purpose Of Test

The IELTS speaking is designed to access a wide range of skills . The Questions and Topics are not intended to test how smart and clever you are often , candidate will encounter a topic , and say “This is a Stupid Topic.” Nevertheless, thanking for providing me with this wonderful topic , examiner will understand and able to assess your language level. IELTS is a proficiency test that means knowledge & skill and as such the speaking topics & questions are to elicit a speaking sample from a candidate.

How Do They Score The Speaking Test ?

Certified examiners assess your speaking . when you have your interview , it will be recorded and assessed later. The examiner who listen to your recording is already mentioned with the criteria for scoring on it. There are four parts of the criteria you will be marked on the four criteria of the IELTS speaking test. SPEAKING EXAMINER use detailed performance description to award a band score for each of four assessment criteria.
